Newport, RI
The Coastal Extreme Brewing Company was founded in 1999 by four Colby College graduates who began brewing in a small space in Newport, RI. Their first product, Hurricane Amber Ale, entered the market in late 1999 and was distributed to local restaurants before moving into retail 6‑packs. Over the years the company has broadened its range of beers and expanded its distribution area while maintaining production at its Middletown facility.
