Eureka, CA
Blue OX Millwork in Eureka employs late‑19th‑ and early‑20th‑century woodworking machines to craft custom millwork in its main, sawmill, and moulder buildings. The facility also contains a blacksmith shop that produces ornamental ironwork, hardware, and replacement parts for the antique equipment, a machine shop, and a wood‑fired ceramics kiln that tests historic glaze formulas. Students constructed a twin‑chamber kiln from recycled bricks and bay mud, and the campus is building the Corrina Bella, a 40‑foot traditional sailing vessel, while a recreated skid camp demonstrates historic logging camp life with oxen named Babe and Blue.
