The Visitor Center, situated on the western side of Kaua'i, serves as the field office for the active Gay & Robinson Sugar Plantation. Exhibits cover the histories of Gay & Robinson Inc., Olokele Sugar Co., Hawaiian Sugar Co. (formerly Makaweli Plantation), and Makaweli Ranch, alongside displays of both historic and contemporary field and factory practices in Hawaii. A global sugar map illustrates the industry’s political landscape and recent developments.
