Veldheer?s

Holland, MI

Veldheer's in Holland, Michigan, produces thousands of wooden shoes each year using three distinct carving methods: hand carving from a solid block, semi‑automatic carving, and fully automated machines imported from the Netherlands. The factory also makes Dutch pottery, beginning with a dry clay blend, shaping it in one of 400 molds, firing it at temperatures above 2000 °F for 18 hours, then hand‑painting, refiring, glazing, and firing a third time. Visitors can observe each stage of the production, from raw material preparation to the final finishing touches.
