The factory showcases the development of several features that have become standard in modern bass guitars, such as printed circuit board electronics and graphite inlaid necks. Each instrument is built from wood chosen by Ken Smith from an in‑house lumberyard that holds more than 20 species of aged tonewoods, giving visitors access to one of the largest collections of acclimated musical‑grade woods worldwide. Production is overseen by Smith himself, who also performs the final setup, and the designs reflect a blend of 16th‑ to 19th‑century European luthier techniques with contemporary technology.
