Stonington Vineyards was founded in 1987 by Nick and Happy Smith on 58 acres of the Stonington Uplands. The winery blends contemporary winemaking equipment with traditional barrel fermentation, under the direction of winemaker Mike McAndrew. Its south‑sloping, well‑drained glacial soils and maritime microclimate create conditions similar to Bordeaux, supporting a range of varietals including Chardonnay, Fumé Vidal Blanc, Riesling, and Merlot.
