Nora Mill Granary Grist Mill & Country Store

Helen, GA

The Nora Mill Granary is a working grist mill on the Chattahoochee River in Helen, Georgia, that uses both historic French burr stones powered by river water and a modern stone grinding system to produce corn and wheat products. Built in 1876, the mill has been maintained by successive generations of the Fain family and features the original 1,500‑pound stones, a 100‑foot wooden raceway, and a restored dam and raceway. The site also includes a country store and a kitchen where visitors can sample the stone‑ground products.
