The Paramount Theatre

Oakland, CA

The Paramount Theatre in Oakland, completed in 1931, showcases a notable example of Art Deco architecture that incorporates the work of several artists. After periods of closure and decline, the building was restored in the early 1970s and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, later becoming a National Historic Landmark. Today it functions as a venue for the Oakland Ballet, the Oakland East Bay Symphony, and a variety of concerts and film screenings.
