Gluek Brewing

Cold Spring, MN

The Gluek Brewing facility in Cold Spring traces its origins to 1857 when Gottlieb Gluek founded the company on the Mississippi River, making it the oldest continuously operating brewery in Minneapolis. Visitors can observe the remains of the original horse‑drawn delivery system, which once used a team of 110 Percheron draft horses, and learn how the brewery survived an 1880 fire, Prohibition, and a 1964 sale before the brand was revived in 1997. The tour also highlights the unique water source that comes from deep granite aquifers in Stearns County, a factor that has historically contributed to the brewery’s flavor profile.
